Happy HOWLidays folks! Belinthia here and I have made my way to DC and find a nice warm forever home where I can cuddle up by the fireplace with a human of my very own! I'm a 70 pound shepherd mix and would love to share many an outdoor adventure with you. Maybe we could even frequent a dog park so I can make some canine pals! The other shelter dogs have told me about dogs toys and bully sticks which sound awesome!

Getting me into doggie school will be important, I want to make sure I have the very best manners for you!

Here is some feedback I received from someone who took me out for a stroll:

"I walked Belinthia last Wednesday and Thursday. I was told by the guy at Ruff House that he normally walks Belinthia in the Ruff House parking lot. So I wasn't surprised by Belinthia's behavior when I took her on extended walks around Parklawn Dr and through a nearby apartment complex. Belinthia is a sweet girl. She doesn't bark and was unphased by other people and dogs we encountered on our walk. She was eager to explore new areas and was quite the tugger on the leash. Traffic on Parklawn Dr was heavy and Belinthia was often distracted by the loud noise of passing cars. She eased up on the leash and her tail started to perk up when we walked on a quiet, wooded path behind an apartment complex. She may need more training on the leash and a brush up on basic commands."

Like most shelter dogs, Belintha may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to cathyd@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
