Well, hello hoomans! My name is Candy Cane, and I am a 9-month-old, 29-pound Labrador Retriever mix! Although I have a Christmassy name, I am ready to join your family--no matter WHAT time of year it is!

I am a young girl, so chances are once I settle in, I am going to have a LOT of energy. A few walks a day may not be enough! I can't wait for you to take me all over your neighborhood, maybe on a nice hike, and to the dog park so I can hang out with a bunch of new doggie friends. On the other hand, once I'm all tired out, nothing sounds better than taking a nice long nap in front of a fire or in a nice, warm sunny spot. Ahh! That sounds like bliss!

I'm a little bit on the shy side, so I'd likely do best in a home with another dog to help build my confidence. I'm not sure how I'll do with cats or kids yet, but we can figure that out when I arrive in town! Additionally, I can't wait for you to sign me up for some obedience classes. Not only will I learn all my commands and manners to show you what a very good girl I am, but those will help me work on my braves, too!

So, how about it? Are you ready for a sweetie pie like me to join your pack? Fill out and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Candy Cane may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our
Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at!
