Currently Living at: Shelter. Dixie needs a foster, or better yet FUREVER home!

Brrrrrr! Hi, you guys! I'm Dixie--a 6-month-old, 35-pound Labrador mix, and BOY I am NOT used to this cold weather we've been having down here in South Carolina. What's that you say? The DC area is in the middle of a deep freeze, too? Well, I guess you'll have to just adopt my floofy self so we can snuggle up together!

I am a young girl, and so you can be sure I'm going to have lots of energy and need your patience while I learn and grow into a big girl. I will need lots of walks every day, frequent trips outside while I'm learning all about housebreaking, and regular trips to the dog park and out and about with you so I can meet lots of different people and other animals! On the other hand, once I've had a great outing? Nothing sounds better than a nap on my very own cozy bed in front of the fire or in a sunny spot--or maybe even YOUR lap!

I'm not sure how I'll do with cats or kids yet, but we can find that out when I arrive in town. Additionally, it will be VERY important for you to sign me up for puppy kindergarten so I can learn all my basic commands and manners and show you what a very good girl I can be!

Like most puppies, Dixie will need to work on her housetraining. Dixie will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!
