Someone out there is looking for an adult dog who knows a thing or two. A dog who has seen enough of life that nothing phases her anymore and doesn't come with a long list of demands. A dog who wants only to find a home where she can live forever with people who will love her and treasure her companionship. If you are that person then we have found your match and her name is Marilyn.
Marilyn is a sweet, medium size Spaniel mix with a tan coat, feathery black ears and a plume of a tail. This girl will definitely turn heads in your neighborhood! At 5 she is long past the bouncy puppy and rambunctious adolescent stages. Marilyn is a lady but not a diva. She loves her people but is sometimes a bit suspicious of strangers, especially in her own home.
Marilyn is recovering well from her surgery but still needs some help in a few areas. She can manage a few stairs but has difficulty if they don't have some type of covering that provides traction for her. Marilyn is most comfortable getting around on carpeted floors. In a home with hardwood or tile floors area rugs or runners will be a big help. Jumping is something that she will not try and should not be encouraged to do.
Marilyn will need daily exercise to keep her happy and healthy. I n addition to daily walks you should plan on some opportunities for Marilyn to run off-leash, such as at a fenced-in dog park or doggie daycare. Obedience training is the way to go with any new dog and Marilyn will appreciate you making the effort to learn how best to communicate with her.
Like most shelter dogs, Marilyn may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Marilyn has been living with another dog and likes having canine companionship. but has not yet been tested with cats. She should not go to a home with kids under the age of 15.
