Puerto Rican Princess Ready for a Forever Fam!

MIKA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Mika    Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Terrier Mix

Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years old as of 1/16/17 SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 42 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Mika will do best in a home with kids ages 12 and older as little ones make her nervous.

Mika is a sweet 1.5 year old Lab/Terrier mix. She weighs about 42 lbs and, because of her age, may fill out a little but is otherwise done growing. We don't know how this sweet girl ended up in a shelter but it hasn't dampened her spirits one bit and she can't wait to meet her forever family!

Mika will need plenty of exercise and playtime each day to be a happy and healthy pup. She would love to go on daily long walks, hikes and regular trips to the dog park. After she's tuckered out, Mika loves cuddling up for a nice nap and belly rub. She can't wait to go to obedience training with her new family so that she can bond with her people and become her very best self!

Mika is good with other dogs so she'd be a great addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all of the attention as an only dog. The nice folks at Lucky Dog don't know how Mika is with cats but we can try to find out if you're interested.

From Mika's Foster Mamacita:
Our beautiful copper haired and copper eyed Puerto Rican "Sato" Rescue dog never leaves my side. She is so grateful to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to finally be in a home. Since Mika arrived on 1/20/18, she is becoming more trusting that I will not leave her and is beginning to explore more, but always returns to make sure I am still there and to give me hugs and kisses. She is responsive to my Spanish, and I am teaching her English. After arriving home, she loved her bath and appears to be very low shedding. We are working on her housetraining. Mika is very smart and is learning from my 2 dogs (40lbs and 60lbs), who she loves to play with. She has been very affectionate towards all the adults and older kids she has met so far. She will be a wonderful and most devoted friend to the lucky family that adopts her.

Like most shelter dogs, Mika may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Meg at megh@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
