Meet dapper Dagwood! This handsome & sweet boy is a 1-2 year old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing in at approximately 51 pounds. Dagwood found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own and is looking for a forever family to give him the love and attention he deserves. Could it be yours? 

Dagwood is a lively and playful dog, so he'll require an active family that can keep up with him and will provide him with PLENTY of exercise and playtime (he is a lab mix after all!). He will need both mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis to keep him happy and healthy. An adopter who works full time out of the home will need to commit to having a midday dog walker for Dagwood during the week. Dagwood travels well in the car, and would love to go on a long walk or hike with his new family, or take a trip to the dog park so he can socialize with his canine friends! Of course, upon returning home, he'd be more than happy to shower his new forever family with tons of kisses and cuddles! 

Dagwood does get along with cats but will need a proper introduction. We haven't had a chance to see him interact with young kids yet. If you have them, let us know and we'll do our best to find out! Dagwood is also looking forward to attending obedience school to hone in his doggie manners and impress his new family. 

Foster Update:" Beautiful, sweet Dagwood is one of the most loving and loyal companions you could ever have! He loves the people he trusts and always strives to please. He has been great at house training and quickly learned the proper way to walk on a leash. Dagwood is not destructive and loves toys of all kinds! He can spend hours playing with his bones and ball! I even have a little dog and he plays very well with him. Although Dagwood has suffered a rough past, he is jumping through hoops of progress. He loves other dogs, but is cautious with people he does not know. With more reassurance, socialization and love, I know Dagwood is going to break through his barriers and become a family’s best friend fur-ever!!"
