Meet Chestnut the handsome Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix! He is a handsome 1.5 year old weighing in at about 45 pounds who cannot WAIT to meet you!

Chestnut is very sweet and is a lively and playful dog, so he’ll require an active family that will provide him with plenty of exercise and playtime.  He will need both mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis to keep him happy and healthy. He would love to go on long walks and hikes, and take trips to the dog park so he can socialize with his canine friends. And of course, upon returning home, he’d love to shower his new forever family with plenty of cuddles and kisses!

Although Chestnut gets along well with other dogs we haven't had a chance to see him interact with cats and children yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll do our best to find out!  Chestnut is also looking forward to attending obedience school to hone in his doggie manners and impress his new family.

Like most shelter dogs, Chestnut may need a refresher on housetraining. Chestnut is likely crate trained.
