Meet Buddy! This handsome and sweet boy is a 1 year old Lab/Terrier mix, weighing in at approximately 50 pounds. Buddy found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own and is looking for a forever family to give him the love and attention he deserves! Could it be yours?

Buddy is a lively and playful dog, so he’ll require an active family that can keep up with him and will provide him with PLENTY of exercise and playtime! He will need both mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis to keep him happy and healthy. An adopter who works full time would need to commit to having a midday dog walker for him during the week. Since he's high energy, Buddy will need running or playtime on a daily basis! He would love to go on long walks, hikes, and take trips to the dog park so he can socialize with his canine friends. And of course, upon returning home, he'd love to shower his new forever family with tons of kisses and cuddles!

Here is what one of his handlers (and best pals) has to say about him:

" Buddy is one of the greatest dogs I’ve had the privilege of getting to know. He is always, always, always excited to see me and showers me in big, slobbery kisses. He is a dream in the car - he sits and looks out the front window. Often he looks concerned but it just adds to his animated facial expressions. At one event, as I was handling him, a family came over to say hello. The girl, no older than 4, walked over to him and he sat down and continuously licked her face until they were ready to leave. It was such a joy to watch the love exchanged between the two, even if only for a brief few moments. Buddy is a big lug who just wants someone to love on him as he will undoubtedly love on his person. Whoever takes a chance on this boy will be the happiest person in the world. I just adore him. He’s such a goof and such a good boy. "

"Foster Update: Buddy is a wonderful houseguest. He is house trained, good in the crate and super food motivated. He does pull a bit on leash so we use a front pull harness and he walks beautifully. He does jump when he gets excited but takes correction quickly and gets into a sit promptly when asked. (He has to sit before he is fed and goes outside, for example.) He is extremely energetic, affectionate and loves his toys. Buddy loves to play fetch and would make an excellent running partner."

Buddy gets along well with other dogs so he'd be a great addition to an existing pack -- or he'd be happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog! We haven't had a chance to see him interact with cats or kids yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll do our best to find out! Buddy is also looking forward to attending obedience school to hone in his doggie manners and impress his new family.

Buddy will make a great companion and family member; you won’t regret opening your heart and home to this sweet boy!

Like most shelter dogs, Buddy may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Meg at MegH@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
