LILLY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Lilly     Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Terrier Mix

Best Guess for Age: 2-3 years    SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 50 pounds 

Gets Along With: Other dogs and cats. We haven't had a chance to see Lilly interact with kids yet, but if you have them let us know and we're happy to find out for you.

Currently Living at: DC area foster home.

Special adoption considerations: Lilly is heartworm positive. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  Lilly had treatment on 8/28/18.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process. 

Lilly is Looking For: A forever family to shower with love. Lilly looks forward to daily walks, frequent visits to the dog park and maybe running in her very own yard to burn off extra energy, and doggie training classes so she can show you what a super-smart girl she is. 

Like most shelter dogs, Lilly may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
