About Skye: I'm Skye, a sweet and loyal two year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. I was rescued with a single puppy who was quickly adopted because he was SO cute. What can I say? He got it from his mama.
I've been spending a little more time in my foster home because I tested positive for heartworm disease. I've just finished up my treatment though and the vet tells me I am good as new! I got my name from my beautiful blue eyes. Another unique thing about me? I'm deaf, but you'd hardly notice! In my foster home, I live with other dogs and kids. My best friend is another two year old Catahoula just like me. She's really laid-back and doesn't get mad when I can't hear her. We love to play chase and wrestle in the back yard. I love balls, toys with stuffing (to de-stuff, of course) and lounging in my bean bag chair. I'm also really athletic. If I played a sport, I would be a hurdler. I can jump a 4 foot fence with ease! I'd love a fenced yard -- just a taller one, please. When I'm not romping around the yard, I LOVE to cuddle! After all, I'm a 40 pound lap dog.
My favorite thing ever is attention. Because I'm deaf, I'm really bonded to my favorite person, and I like to make sure someone is always in sight. When my people first leave, sometimes I have to bark to let them know they forgot me! I wonder why they'd leave me at home - they know how much I love car rides! I'm working on ways to help me feel more comfortable with "me time".
I would not do well in a home with cats, bunnies, or other small furry critters, but would do great with a calm canine companion! I would love to find a home with a patient family who will help me feel comfortable, secure, and loved!
