Mia

Mia is a 5 year old 12 pound female

She is as sweet as they come

Good with other dogs and all people

Anyone lucky enough to meet her falls in love. She loves to snuggle and give kisses

Mia came to us with a spinal injury. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do to restore her ability to walk, but she has had a lot of physical therapy and is a spinal walker. What that means is that while she cannot feel her back legs, her reflexes have taken over and she will get up and walk (not always pretty, but effective) and when she’s not up on all fours, she is pretty good at getting around with only 2. She has her very own cart which helps on longer walks and trips out of the house.

Because of her condition, Mia does need to be expressed to go potty.  She doesn't want to let this scare you off - It is SUPER easy to learn which means she goes potty on your schedule! Check out our very own Dr. Wong at Southeast Veterinary Neurology teach you how to express a dog!

From Mia -

In addition to all that you have read about me, I can report that my foster family uses the words VERY LOVEABLE (yes, in all caps) to describe me. I enjoy lounging in the sun, chowing down (although my weight is just fine), distributing kisses and cuddling with you…big time. Hesitant at first, I warm up quickly when I know you are the real deal. Not super high energy, I’m content to lounge around and be, well, loveable!

Little tikes and lots of commotion make me (and my stomach) very nervous, and I will make a beeline for a hiding place.
