Smiling Risa!
RISA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Risa Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd / Shar Pei Mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 year old as of 9/18/19 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 35 pounds as of 9/18/18
Has Lived With: Other Dogs
Currently Living at: A DC Foster!
Special Adoption Considerations: Risa cannot go to a home with kids under 15, nor to an owner that wants to have children. Risa will need consistency and commitment to formal training to maintain her resource guarding tendencies and would do best in a home without a ton of people coming and going.
Risa is looking for: Risa would love a home with an experienced owner that has the time and energy to give her LOTS of opportunity for running and play time. Risa is INCREDIBLY intelligent and will thrive in a home that maintains her training, consistently. She has lived at daycare and was a group favorite, so an opportunity to go to daycare to run and maintain that awesome socialization is a must.
Risa LOVES her humans beyond belief, and is loyal to the bone. She does exhibit some resource guarding tendencies and will need an owner that is patient and willing to work with that every day.
What my foster says about me: Risa is such a sweet girl, the love she has for her humans is truly boundless. Running & playtime is 100% a must for this pup - we go to the dog park daily, but she could honestly use to go twice a day or to daycare. She LOVES other dogs and would probably be the happiest camper just running around in circles all day. She does require very strict boundaries in the home so she knows who's alpha and we have started working on her guarding tendencies in the home and have a daily training hour to work on her current commands and maintain them, as well as keep up mental stimulation. By far the most intelligent dog I've ever had!
She will probably need a bit of a refresher on crate and housetraining but she's hoping her forever home can show her the ropes!
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. We do work with all dogs on crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online HERE.
