This sweet lab needs a forever home!

MAGNOLIA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Magnolia     Best Guess for Breed: Lab Mix

Best Guess for Age: about 2 years as of 5/12/19    SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: approx. 54 lbs

Gets Along With: other dogs and kids - can check for how she is with cats.

Currently Living at: A DC area foster home.

Special adoption considerations: Magnolia is heartworm positive. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  Magnolia is scheduled to have treatment as soon as possible so the recovery process can begin.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.

I’m Looking For: Woof! My name's Magnolia and just like the Southern trees I'm named after, I'm beautiful and would make a great addition to any home! Fun fact- did you know that Magnolia means gentle and loving! As a young dog, that's exactly what I am! I would love for my forever family to take me on lots of walks to get my lab energy out, plenty of trips to the dog park, and maybe a chance to go to the beach or a river every now and then? That would be the dream! Oh, and I would love to be the best and most gentle girl by showing off at obedience classes! So, what do you say? Are you ready for me, Magnolia, in your life?!

What My Foster Says About Me: Magnolia is a great girl. She has a lot of energy so she will need a wonderful and loving family that is very active. She is learning sit and down which is great progress! She can be little bit of a jumper so we are working on the redirection. Not a fan of her crate but working on that. With a lot of exercise and training she will shine even more then she does!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any particular dog is housebroken.  All our dogs are working on crate training.

TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for Magnolia is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Angela Williams at angelaw@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
