EMILIO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of July 2019     SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 50 lbs 

Gets Along With: Other dogs; cats (interested in them, but playful)

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: Emilio is working on learning how great it is to be a dog, and because of this, he needs a strong commitment to socialization! He would also do best in a house with no young children, under the age of 12. 

I’m Looking For my forever family. I was lucky enough to be found by the nice people from Lucky Dog who were visiting Puerto Rico. They took me in and got me all fixed up at a nice vet's office. From there, I've been hanging out at the Pet Village just patiently waiting to make my way to the DC area. I'm looking for people who will take me in and show me how awesome it can be to be a pet. It would be so nice to have a bed of my own, and maybe even a blanket for the colder months. I have a good amount of energy, and would love to play at dog parks, go on hikes, or even just take nice long walks around the neighborhood with you.  Let the nice lady, listed below, know if you are interested in learning more! I met her in Puerto Rico and she can tell you how nice I am!

What My Foster Says About Me:  Emilio is an absolute mush of a dog. He's a little nervous of the world right now, which is understandable considering he was dumped on the streets, but he is getting comfortable with each passing day and with lots of patience. He is wonderful in the home - obsessively loves soft things - beds, plushies, pajamas...he very clearly didn't have a lush life in PR and is now taking advantage of everything a home has to offer. He has been great and has very quickly become my shadow. He is already my best friend and I can't wait to help him become a confident guy. He loves other dogs and when people spend a few minutes with him, he loves them, too! He isn't much a tail wagger yet but when he's excited his mouth upturns a little bit and his smile is so dreamy and melts my heart. He is a magical dog and when he starts to trust himself and the world, I just can't even imagine how much more incredible he'll be. He deserves the absolute best!

Emilio is doing great! He has adjusted great and has come out of his shell. He is has a great personality and is so much fun. He bounces when he plays and just loves everyone and every dog he meets. His tail wags regularly now and he is very affectionate,  He gives kisses and loves to snuggle. He loves our trips to the dog park. He gets tons of compliments as he is such a pretty guy. He also loves hiking in trails and loves the  water. He has started playing fetch with the ball. He is amazing in his crate. He sleeps through the night and doesn't mind going into during the day. He is an energetic guy so needs his exercise but then settles down very nicely . He is great on the leash when he is walking with his buddies. 

Foster # 2 Update: Emilio is such a sweetheart! He is having a blast playing with my two young, active dogs! They both love him. He will make some dog a great buddy! When he is tired he loves to snuggle.?? His house-training has been perfect and he is very good in his crate at night and when I need to leave for awhile.

His two super powers are :

1) Playing with dogs

2) Snuggling with humans.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any particular dog is housebroken.  All our dogs are working on crate training.
