Gordo is a 5 year old 17 pound boy. He came to us after his family went to the vet to have him euthanized because of, what they thought was, a back issue. The vet refused and they surrendered to her. He stayed on crate rest and meds there and got much better and then they reached out to DRSF. He was then seen by Dr. DePompa and had a spinal tap and MRI. It all came back normal.... then he saw an orthopedic specialist, and then a different orthopedic specialist and no one has been able to find any problem. What we know now is that Gordo limps once in a while. We have done every test that’s available to us and nothing has been found. When he has a limping episode, he takes some anti inflammatory meds and then he’s fine. We have also found that he’s much better now that he has lost a few pounds. Keeping him fit will be best for him.
Gordo is a wonderful boy. His perfect home would be one that has another small dog or 2. We won’t be adopting him to a home with big dogs. He loves kids and is great with them.
He’s housebroken and loves to play. There are no restrictions, but he’s not likely to be a hiking buddy, but he does love walks. He’s an incredibly sweet boy who can’t wait to find the perfect home for him.
