Sweetie ISO happily ever after!

BUDDY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Buddy     Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd/terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:  6 years as of June 2024     SEX:  Male

Approximate Weight:  43 lbs.

Special Adoption Considerations: Buddy loves his people more than anything and would like to be the only pet in the home. He would do best in a home without children under the age of 15.

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home

Buddy is Looking For: A family who will appreciate his joyful enthusiasm and who is ready for lots of walks!  Buddy is very quiet, well-behaved, and loving in the home with his humans. He has a great wiggle when he's excited to see his people! He has great manners in the home and has adjusted well to his routine with his fosters! Buddy gets very excited to meet new people and is working on his manners. He is quickly mastering commands like "sit" and "stay" and continuing to work on his training. Buddy needs someone that is ready to take him on long walks around the neighborhood every day -- he loves to walk! And Buddy needs someone who is okay letting Buddy be the apple of their eye and who will not have Buddy around other dogs. He walks great on the leash as long as other dogs don't get too close and would do best not living in a very dense living situation like apartments or condo buildings.

What My Foster Says About Me: "Buddy exudes joy with his smile, curious ears and gleefully wagging tail. Buddy LOVES going for walks (he gets lots of walks!) and would be a great adventure companion! When not enjoying a walk, he finds a cozy spot to hang out and rest -- whether in the home or on the grass outside. He has been doing well with training and has been learning the ropes pretty quickly. He is incredibly respectful of things and people in the house (never begs at the table, doesn't touch 'our' things, is quiet, sleeps late, is great with visitors,...). Simply put, easy and great in the house. Buddy will be an active and adoring addition to a forever home! He is a tremendous pup who we will miss when he finds his forever home, but he is going to be a wonderful pup for his person or new family."
