LANEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME WITH A WELCOMING RESIDENT DOG AND NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12!!!!

Best Guess for Age:  9 weeks as of 8/26/21      SEX:  Female

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  8 lbs as of 8/26/21

Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. 

Additionally, Laney is a little shy. She will need to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will help show her the ropes. Because she will do best in a home without sudden loud noises or unexpected movements, she cannot go to a home with children under the age of 12. 

Laney is Looking For:  Her forever family! This sweet girl and her sister Loki have been the best of pals, but now they're eager to head off to their separate forever families. They want what all puppies want - lots of snuggles and play time and more cuddles - but first they need a little help feeling safe and comfortable. They would like patient, loving adopters who will help give them the space they need - and a welcoming resident dog who will show them how to dog. Once they've settled in and feel safe, they'll be ready to start learning all about the world out there, so they can explore it with confidence!

What My Foster Says About Me:

Laney is an adorable, inquisitive, charming, entertaining, shy pup who is really starting to trust humans and come out of her shell. Each time she sees you, her entire body wiggles and shakes with
delight at company and she comes over to greet you. When left alone, she is extremely good at entertaining herself. She is also doing very well with paper training and keeping her puppy play area clean.
She is smart and loves challenging toys. She is also clever and can be sneaky. She managed to steal my slipper from OUTSIDE her puppy pen and get it into the pen to enjoy when I was not looking! Once I left the roll of paper towels within her reach and boy did she have a blast making a perfect ‘snow scene’ on her dog bed.
Because of her quiet, gentle nature, she is looking for a quiet lifestyle filled with love and snuggles and lots of long walks and play time.

Puppy Vetting Requirements:  Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.   

Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 12/15/21. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
