Tiny Terrier Seeks Loving Family!
PHOEBE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Phoebe and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (March 17th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!
Name: Phoebe Best Guess for Breed: Terrier Mix
Best Guess for Age: 8 yrs as of Dec. 2023 SEX: female
Approximate Weight: 10 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but she can be tested.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home.
Special adoption considerations: Phoebe is a truly Lucky Dog. Although She has tested positive for heartworms, she has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.
Phoebe was also found to have a heart murmur when she entered the shelter. We are happy to discuss this further with interested adopters.
About Phoebe: Hi world! My name is Phoebe - or Phe for short! I’m looking for a special person or persons that could use some extra love in their lives.
I’m a little girl that loves to sleep through the night, am happy to chill in my kennel while you work, and am really good at being a house dog. I really like meeting new dogs too, though my foster says I'm sometimes bossy towards other dogs in the house. My tiny size is great for an apartment or townhome but my personality is happy to fill up a big house with a yard too!
If you’re interested in snuggling and love - SO AM I. I’m one of the most special dogs you’ll find. I hope you’ll be my everything because I’ve got so much love to give.
What My Foster Says About Me: Phoebe is a snuggler. She will climb into your lap and give kisses. She even gives hugs. She spins around when excited, especially for food. She plays with squeaky toys. Phoebe has a ton of energy for her age! She also enjoys being spoiled with comfy places to sleep and delicious treats. Phoebe likes going on walks but is still is working on her leash manners.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
