Chasity

sweet mama seeking her own humans!

CHASITY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Chasity      Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and lab mix

Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of February 2024     SEX: Female

Approximate Weight:  45 lbs

Gets Along With:  Chasity does well with other dogs and kids. We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested.

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Chasity is a truly Lucky Dog! She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.

Chasity is Looking For:  Her own humans! She was an amazing mama to her babies Logan, Lucas, and Lolly, and they're off to get their own families. Chasity is seeking a new family to lavish all that love and attention upon. She's also eager for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures her family can dream up.

Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange, she offers adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is she the one you see by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me:   Chasity is an absolute sweetheart! She has been a perfect little houseguest. She does all her business outside and LOVES going on long walks and hikes. She does well on leash, although does pull a bit when she sniffs something extra special or sees a squirrel and wants to chase. She was a little hesitant about the dog park at first, but is now a pro and loves it. She likes to run around with other dogs but her favorite is a good wrestling match!  She has been very friendly with all dogs and people she meets, and is wonderful with children. She knows "sit" and takes treats gently, is great on car rides, and was a perfect angel when I bathed her. Chasity is out of the puppy stage but still has a lot of energy - she starts biting and chewing things when she gets bored or wants attention/playtime. We have been trying to teach her that fingers/toes are not chew toys! :)  After getting plenty of exercise during walks/hikes and trips to the dog park, she is very calm and relaxed at home. She follows us around, always wagging her tail and wanting love/pets, and always ends up laying next to us.  At night she easily goes into her crate and sleeps soundly through the night

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
