Southern belle looking for a home!
DIXIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Come meet Dixie and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (March 3rd) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in ALEXANDRIA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!
Name: Dixie Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of February 2024 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 60 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We're not sure if Dixie gets along with cats or children but we can test her if you're interested!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Dixie is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this gorgeous gal ended up in the shelter. She is out of the puppy yips and is ready to become the confident adult dog she was meant to be- and this smart lady even already knows how to sit and shake! All Dixie is missing is her own humans to trot alongside on sniffy walks, romps in local parks, and all the adventures they can dream up! Exploring all the toys sounds great too, as well as some delicious kibble and a cushy dog bed.
Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes, cuddles, and loyalty for all her days.
What do you say? Is Dixie the companion you've been looking for?
What My Foster Says About Me: "Dixie is a dream and doing great. She is the cuddliest dog ever and loves everyone she meets. She’s gotten along with all dogs but is not one to instigate play time. Super food-motivated and willing to learn. She already knows sit, stay, shake and has great recall to her name. She is silent in her crate but also has been left out and does fine around the apartment. She does get a bit jealous of other toys so if a dog is playing she wants to take it just because they have it but with a quick 'no' she settles down and lets the dog play. Dixie has had no accidents and follows a normal morning/evening/bedtime walk routine. She is seriously one of the best dogs ever and will be a great addition to any family. "
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
