Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.

Currently Living at: A foster home in the DC area!

Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. 

Emil is Looking For:  Her forever home! This sweetie might no longer be a pudgy little baby, but she's still a puppy and looking for lots of play time and snuggles and all that fun stuff! She's also ready to explore! The neighborhood, the local parks, the world! And all the toys to see what she likes best - balls for fetch? Ropes for tug? Squeaky plushies to squeak? Yes, please!

She also wants to go to dog school to show how super smart she is. But most of all, she wants to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof for all her days. In exchange, she promises lots of tail wags and kisses and adoring gazes - and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is she the companion you have been seeking?

What My Foster Says About Me: Emil is a brand new transplant from Texas and she LOVES the DC area!  We have couches here, which she thinks are a fabulous combination of snuggle zone and jungle gym.  We have TV here, and Emil will bark to let you know there are PEOPLE on that screen.  We have dog parks and well, nothing is better than a dog park, except for a fabulous nap after.  Emil is a very happy girl that'll cure any mid-winter blues.  She wags, she wiggles, she gazes at you adoringly.  She loves to curl up on your lap - it's going to be a huge surprise to her when she gets bigger and doesn't fit on a lap anymore.  Emil is quickly learning "sit", "down" and leash manners.  She sleeps in her crate overnight and we're working on house-training.  Emil would love to explore the DC area with a new best friend?  Are you that person?

Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.   

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
