WESSON NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Come meet Wesson and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 26th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!

Name: Wesson       Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd/Lab mix

Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of March 2024    SEX  Male

Approximate Weight: 40 lbs

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested

Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.

Wesson is Looking For:   A name change. He's not quite sure why he was named for a grocery store vegetable oil brand. He'd like something better suited to his dashing good looks and happy, youthful energy.

More than that, though, he wants his forever home! He says he hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and he's eager to have his own humans to explore it with. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! He'd love to make pup and people pals along the way. Dog school is on his wish list as well, so he can show how super smart he is.

And most of all, he wants to know where he belongs and that he's safe and loved for all his days. In exchange, he promises loyal companionship and adoring gazes and tail wags. What do you say? Is Wesson the one for your home and your heart?

What My Foster Says About Me:  Wesson is doing so well in his foster home! He walks great on a leash, loves playing with other dogs, goes to the door when he has to go outside, and is extremely food motivated. Besides his stunning eyes and adorable little body (or big head), he is a fantastic cuddler and shadow. He is still working on crate training - will cry for a little bit when he gets in there, but calms down with a bone or kong to keep him busy. He went to dinner with my friends, and he was a perfect gentleman, just laying next to us on the patio and wasn't scared by sirens, bikes, runners, strollers. He was just perfectly content to sniff our food and lay down while listening to gossip.

He has gone to a Rover sitter for daycare who says he is amazing and a great dog (so he comes with references!) Wesson lives with my dog, and while he can be that annoying little foster brother, he takes cues when it's time to take a break or when it's "go" time. He can be a bit shy to warm up, but like many dogs, he quickly becomes your best friend. He is a total package and really think he would thrive in any environment!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
