JEN NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Jen      Best Guess for Breed:   Shepherd and terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of March 2024     SEX:  Female

Approximate Weight:  50 lbs

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested

Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here

Special adoption considerations: Jen is a truly Lucky Dog. Although she has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.

Jen is Looking For:  Her forever family! Through no fault of her own, Fernleaf now needs a new home. She's eager to once again have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. And - definitely snuggles, lots of those - they rate higher than quality kibble and a cushy dog bed on her wish list!

She wants nothing more than to be safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and tail wags and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Jen the one for your home and your heart?

What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
