Quail is Looking For: Her forever family! Through no fault of her own, Quail f now needs a new home. She's eager to once again have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. And - definitely snuggles, lots of those.

She wants nothing more than to be safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and tail wags and loyal companionship. What do you say? Can you see this pretty brindle girl trotting by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me:  Quail is one fantastic girl!  She always seems to be smiling and is a gentle soul. She has the most velvety soft coat that is absolutely striking - striped like a tiger all the way down her back and white "boots" on all of her feet. She looks bigger in pictures than she actually is. While not really a lowrider, she is definitely shorter and compact.  Her ears are so expressive, constantly up and down - when I am making her dinner and she hears the scoop of kibble hit the bowl, her ears will even twitch a bit with every scoop that falls in. :) She is very gentle taking treats and knows how to sit on command. She is also a very good listener and takes direction very well, whether it's to come where I want her to or to leave it.  With that said, she is not chewing things in the house that she shouldn't (she seems to have an affinity for dead worms on the sidewalk lol).

She likes to roll around in the grass and we have tried to play fetch...she moreso hops high like a rabbit toward the ball (as long as it's only a few feet away). She cannot be bothered if you throw it far because then she has to leave where you are. :) She is not a puller on the leash, in fact, she tends to like the more leisurely stroll. We are practicing just walking next to me on a leash, and she is getting better every time. She is overall easy on a walk.

The car is not her favorite but she does well in it.  She mostly just sleeps the whole time.  She loves her big donut bed and likes to stretch out in it and across it if I am not hanging out with her. If I am sitting with her on the couch, she uses her feet to push against my leg to prop herself up in silly positions so she can snore away. A great little co-worker. :)

She matches energy pretty well, so if I am busy working she will either nap or go through each of her toys to select the one she wants. She will often take toys into her crate to play with them and leaves them in there for later.  She's also been learning that peanut butter Kongs are yummy and how to hold one so she can get her reward out. :) At night, it is easy to get her to go in her crate with treats. She is quiet and goes right to sleep and sleeps through the night. She jumps a little in the morning when she comes out of her crate, but she easily settles if you ignore it. She is not very vocal, I haven't heard a true bark yet. She has been doing awesome with housetraining and seems to understand why we go outside.

She has such a lovely demeanor and just is the sweetest girl. She gets along with dogs and is doing really well living with my cat (she mostly ignores the cat but when she is interested and wants to play, she just sniffs at the cat and wags her tail but will leave the cat alone if I tell her to).  Considering her nature, I could see her doing well with kids, too. Quail is a great dog that deserves an amazing home!
