small, happy boy seeking happy home!

QUINCY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!

Name: Quincy      Best Guess for Breed:  Terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of April 2024      SEX:  Male

Approximate Weight: 24.8 lbs

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! He hasn't been seen with kids or cats but can be tested

Currently Living at:   DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Quincy is a truly Lucky Dog. Although he has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.

Quincy is Looking For:  His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this small scruffy-ish cutie ended up in a massive, 1200+ animal shelter in far southern Texas. He's a friendly, sweet boy with all that young-dog energy, and after he recovers from heartworm treatment he will be eager for romps in the park and all those great adventures his new humans can dream up. Plus, his size? Great for snuggles AND for hikes!

Quincy has so many adoring gazes and happy tail wags and so much loyal companionship to offer his new family. What do you say? Can you see him by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me:  Quincy has been a great boy so far! He adores getting pets and love from the people around him. He also loves walks so far, and he takes his time sniffing his new surroundings! He is definitely a little shy as he is adjusting to his new, busier environment, but he is beginning to settle in. He is not a huge fan of the crate so far but he is adjusting to that as well! Overall Quincy will be an amazing addition to a very lucky family.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
