PIP NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:    Pip       Best Guess for Breed:    Lab and Great Dane mix

Best Guess for Age:    2 years as of May 2024        Gender:    Female

Approximate Weight:    57 lbs

Gets Along WithOther dogs! We haven’t seen Pip with cats or kids, but she can be tested!

Currently Living At: South Carolina shelter - Pip needs a foster or adopter to make her way to the DC area

Special Adoption Considerations: Pip is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky!  They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months.
