LILY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Lily       Best Guess for Breed:  Lab, retriever mix

Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of May 2024     Gender: Female

Approximate Weight:   50 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested

Currently Living At: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here

Special Adoption Considerations: Lily is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky!  They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Lily is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweet girl came into the shelter with her 6-month-old puppy, Scarlette. The good thing is, she will never have to have another litter! She's eagerly seeking her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and world exploration (she hasn't seen nearly enough of it yet!). Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well but you know what she wants most of all? To be safe and loved and under her own roof for all her days.

In exchange, she promises adoring gazes - to make you laugh - to give you snuggles - and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is she the companion you have been seeking?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster
