Special Adoption Considerations: Agnes is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.

We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!

Agnes is Looking For: Some love and pampering! This mama has done a great job raising her three pups and looks forward to having some me time, which she hopes involved being spoiled rotten! Belly rubs, snuggle time, snacks---you name it! Of course, she'd also like to go on lots of walks to explore her new world and have plenty of opportunities to run and play with other pups like the young dog she is.

What My Foster Says About Me: Agnes is the loveliest dog who just wants to be around her humans. She is great in her crate when we are away from home and loves to sleep on our bed at night. She gives lots of kisses and tail wags and I really think it is because she is grateful to be in a calm environment. She is learning to walk on a leash and although we have not introduced her to other dogs, she does not seem phased when we walk by them on the street. When we sit on the front porch with her, she will watch the dogs go by with curiosity but no barking. She is super chill and loves to sit with us and watch a movie and just wants to be petted. (And it's a tossup whether she likes treats or belly rubs best---so she must get both!)

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
