sweet mama ready for her own family!
WEDNESDAY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Wednesday Best Guess for Breed: Lab and terrier mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of February 2025 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 40 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home.
Special Adoption Considerations: In certain home settings - where the environment might be louder or more intense - this dog would do better with another dog in the home to give her confidence.
Wednesday is Looking For: Her forever home! This Very Good Girl was nursing six puppies, Wally, Wanda, Whitney, Wren, Wrigley, and Wyatt when she arrived into our care. She raised them to be amazing family pets and they went off to get their own homes. Now Wednesday is eager to get her own humans. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, trips to new destinations - she wants it all, please! Most of all, she wants to give love and be loved.
She promises adoring gazes and happy tail wags and loyal companionship for all her days (not just one day a week). What do you say? Does she get her fresh start with you?
What My Foster Says About Me: Wednesday is a little sweetheart. She was fearful on arrival but warmed up to my dogs right away. After 3 hours watching them jump up and down from the couch she finally came up to join us and the joy on her face as she figured out about bouncy pillows and soft blankets was incredible. She is a wonderful girl and will make her future family so happy. If I didn’t already have a foster, I would absolutely have kept her in my home.
Medical: Wednesday is a truly Lucky Dog! She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
