MIKE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Mike          Best Guess for Breed:   Chihuahua - Terrier mix   

Best Guess for Age:   6 years as of 04/04/2025          SEX:  male

Approximate Weight:   17.4 lbs.

Gets Along With: other dogs. We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! 
 

Currently Living at: DC area foster home.

Special adoption considerations:   Mike cannot go to a home with children under age 12 due to his breed and temperament. 

Mike is Looking For: Mike would like nothing more than to settle down with someone who will commit to being his person. His upright ears hear everything and his soulful big round eyes will melt your heart. He's a lively little dog with a distinctive personality. Folks at the shelter describe Mike as a typical Chihuahua - spirited, curious, bold, and sometimes feisty. 

At six years old, Mike is in his prime adult stage, balancing bursts of playfulness with moments of calm and maturity. Mike’s not a runner but he loves to go on walks every day. Both Chihuahuas and Terriers are loyal dogs who form strong bonds with their owners so expect Mike to want a good deal of your attention. Both breeds also have a touch of stubbornness and independence. Like many Chihuahuas, Mike can get cranky when pushed outside his comfort zone. For this reason he can't go to a home with kids under age 12.

What my foster says about me:  Mike is really wonderful! He’s warmed up a ton in just one night and is extremely cuddly, lifting my arm to get me to pet him and wanting to crawl all over me on the couch. He hasn’t chewed anything up nor messed with anything in the house, and hasn’t had any accidents.

Mike loves being outside, whether on walks or in the yard. He walks very well!! He hasn’t shown any interest in toys yet and is working oN his crate training. 

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
