Malamute
Refus- is a gorgeous 1 year old Malamute looking for his forever home. He has come a long way in a short period of time and has acclimated to home life. He is no longer afraid of things such as kitchen drawers opening. Watching him go from being scared of something to discovering the joy it can bring is priceless. He needs to go to a very special home with someone who is willing to be patient while he learns to overcome his fears. He is still sensitive to loud noises and is easily startled, but even this is improving In exchange for his family's patience, they will be rewarded by a sweet, loving boy who is extremely friendly. Now that he has come out of h is shell, he has become quite animated and acts like a goofy (but very smart) puppy.
At 65lbs and still growing, it is easy to forget the he is still a puppy. He has a lot of puppy energy and will need exercise daily. He knows sit and shake, is crate trained and rides well in the car. He is mostly housebroken when the doggy door is open, but he still has some accidents when he can't go outside immediately. He loves playing with and being around other dogs and would do well in a home with another dog. However, he likely would not do well with small dogs or cats. He enjoys being around children, but given his size, he may knock over smaller children. As with all Norsled dogs, Rufus has been neutered, received all of his shots, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms.
