HARLEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!!

If you are viewing Harley's bio on Petfinder, please click below for more information!

Name: Harley    Breed: Shepherd Mix

Approximate Age: 4 years old

Approximate Weight: 52 lbs

Currently Living at: A DC boarding facility- Harley is looking for a foster, or even better yet, a FUR-ever home!!

Special Considerations: Harley has been teased by children in his past, so he would do best in a home with no children.

Hi!!!

My name is Harley and I'm looking for my new family. I came from a scary shelter down in South Carolina but I'm now in DC in hopes that someone here will want to take me home. I’m hoping they will take me on walks and visits to the dog park. I’m also hoping that I can snuggle up with them at night, get some belly rubs and enjoy a few treats!

So, a little bit about me. I’m considered to be an adult at 4 years old- so I won't do much more growing. I love cuddling and give the sweetest puppy kisses. I’m also a very smart little pup so I can’t wait to go to obedience classes with YOU. I hear it is SO. MUCH. FUN. I have a brindle colored coat, a white tummy and chin and floppy ears that make me look so cute! I’m a shepherd mix and I'm about 50lbs- fully grown!

I like other dogs so I wouldn’t mind having a canine sibling but I’m also perfectly fine being top dog in my family. I would prefer to go to a home without children as they've been mean to me in my past, and I'm not sure how I feel about cats- but the folks at Lucky Dog can test me if you have one! See how flexible I am! So, do you have room in your home for me?

Update from Harley's foster dad:

My foster reports that I have the soul of an artist and that I am very sensitive. You will know when you are petting me correctly when I start moaning. You will rarely have to say No! as just a look is enough to get me to stop what I am doing. Once I learn the rules of the house, I never break them. I love car rides and love going on errands for hours at a time. I am great on the leash and never pull. I get along great with the two dogs in my foster’s house, but I would be fine as a single dog. I enjoy the dog park, but a back yard, or walks/runs would be fine.
Because I am so sensitive, the big Sunday events make me very nervous, so the best way to meet me may be at a dog park.

Like most shelter dogs, Harley may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our
Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Elissa at ElissaK@luckydoganimalrescue.org.
