Tommy is a six year old Australian Cattle Dog mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Arkansas(video at bottom).  Tod is a very sweet boy who is just very afraid of new people/sights/sounds. He probably lived on a chain from puppy to three years old and didn't get any socialization or one on one time until he was rescued.

Tommy has been in foster care for over a year now, and has made huge strides.  He is house-trained and crate trained.  He enjoys being around other dogs and will need a home with another dog in order to help him feel comfortable.

Tommy needs a patient family to continue working with him. It will be a journey but it is very rewarding watching him gain trust in people and confidence in himself.  He has never shown any signs of aggression, but he shuts down when he's scared so he becomes a statue and pretends everything is gone. If he starts to shut down, the thing that helps him is walking. It helps him take his mind off whatever was scary and he can start to relax.

All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/tick preventative.  Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV and dogs are tested for heartworms. Adoption fee is $110 for cats and $150 for dogs.
