Name: Alec     Breed:  Shepherd mix

Approximate Age: 15 weeks on 2/24/14

Approximate Weight: 14.5 lbs as of 2/20/14

Currently Living at: Foster

This is Alec and he arrived to the DC area, from South Carolina, with 5 of his siblings earlier this month. Unfortunately, Alec and his brother Axel are the last two who are up for adoption, so we are working overtime to find them their furever home as well. Please note it is our policy not to adopt puppies together.

Alec is a very adorable shepherd mix puppy who is about 15 weeks old and weighs about 14.5 lbs. He was the smallest in the litter, but has the biggest heart! As a puppy and especially as he gets older, Alec will need to be socialized with other pups and given opportunities to exhaust his puppy energy. He will need to be taken out to potty every few hours…even during the wee hours of the night. He will definitely need a patient and loving family to work with him! Also, because he is still a pup, he can learn to get along with children, cats and other dogs.

Because of his age, Alec can only go to a home where someone either works from home full-time or stays at home! This means no 9-5ers, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Like most pups, Alec will need to work on his housetraining. He will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog! He will need to be neutered by 5/12/14, the fee for which will need to be covered by his adopter(s).
