Foster Home Feedback

8/8/14: What else can I say about Miss Piggy? She is perfect, and I have no idea while she is still us. We absolutely adore her! She is kenneled trained and has not had an accident since she’s been kenneled next to my dog. She is potty trained, a champion cuddler, and just about the happiest dog there is. She gets along with everyone she meets, though she can be more nervous while meeting a dog on leash. Miss Piggy doesn’t let her ‘disabilities’ slow her down even though she needs more restricted activity then some dogs. The vet recommends leashed walks, and short runs not to exceed 10-15 mins. This exercise is important though as it keeps her from getting bored. She is still a young dog so she loves to play tug and she is a NUT for tennis balls. Miss Piggy loves our short fetch sessions and she always brings the ball back. If you have a little extra time to dedicate to walks, and a few extra dollars a month to keep up with her meds, she will forever pay you back in sloppy kisses and one of a kind love!

5/7/14: Miss Piggy has been to the vet a few times now to do with a condition known as 'happy tail' which comes from wagging her tail too much and hitting it on things. She is a very happy dog and its hard to keep her from smacking her tail on our walls. It's healing nicely but because the hair is gone, she may be a little pre-disposed to this happening again. The vet has also recommended restricted activity for her because of the arthritis in her hips, and her luxating patella. She can still go for controlled, leashed walks, but the vet does not recommend any loose running such as at the dog park etc. She also needs to be lifted out of my vehicle and should not be jumping from higher places as this can cause issues to her joints. Miss Piggy does not need surgery at this time as these conditions are being controlled by pain meds and joint supplements, but potential adopters will need to be aware that surgery may be needed in the future. These are all small sacrifices in comparison to how great this dog is!

Now onto the fun stuff! We absolutely love her. Since being kenneled next to one of our dogs, she has had no accidents in her kennel and is much happier in there than before. She loves our dogs and is constantly trying to get them to play or to cuddle. Miss Piggy listens very well and is eager to please so training is going awesome! So far she has loved every dog we have introduced her to; however, they have all been male dogs. We have not had the opportunity to introduce her to female dogs, but if they are submissive and want to play I don't predict any issues. She is also wonderful with our cats. She is just a happy girl who would love to spend 10% of the day playing, and 90% cuddling. She is one of the easiest fosters we have and the issues she has with her joints shouldn't deter you from adopting this gorgeous girl!

3/19/14: Miss Piggy is an incredible dog and has been a joy to have! She loves to play and she loves even more to cuddle!! Miss Piggy is accident free when we are home, and throughout the night, but does need to be let out right away when we get home or wake up for the day.
She also has some hip dysplasia. She is on a joint supplement, and pain meds to help her. Surgery is not necessary at this time, per our vet's recommendations.
In typical pitbull fashion, she always needs to be touching you! Piggy is looking for a special home and she hopes that's you!
Medical note:
Ms. Piggy has a luxating patella (a knee cap that slips in and out of place). She also has some hip issues that will eventually lead to arthritis. She is on joint supplements and pain relief medication for days when she gets sore. She is a sweet, sweet pup who will make a wonderful companion. The home that adopts her will need to continue with her joint supplements and pain medication.

2/21/14:  Miss Piggy has only been with us for a few days but so far she's been amazing! She was just spayed on Tuesday (February 18th) so she has been taking it easy, but she listens very well, has had no potty accidents, and doesn't whine in her kennel at night! She is kenneled during the day while my fiancé and I are at work and is not destructive at all. She does well with dogs of all sizes after a proper intro. I have a Great Dane and a Chihuahua and she is respectful of both, and plays with each accordingly. I cant wait to continue to watch her grow and come out of her shell!

2/14/14:  Miss Piggy is a sweet little thing.  She is what many would refer to as a "pocket pittie".  She is so smart and has the cutest little howl when she wants your attention.  Piggy is very eager to please and knows a number of commands like sit and down.  Although she hasn't been around any children since she came to rescue I can't see why there would be any issues.  She is a pretty calm laid back dog who really just wants to have some chill time with a family of her own.  She would prefer a house with no dogs or other laid back dogs that can enjoy the simple life with her.  She is also cat friendly and does very well in a crate.  If you have been looking for an itty bitty piggy then Miss Piggy might be the dog for you!
