Hans

Age: 5 years. Weight: 11 pounds. About Me: I was rescued from a puppy mill. I'm neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, including rabies. I'm housetrained and like being in my crate when necessary. I have a tendency to be a little shy when I meet new people, but as soon as I know I’ll be safe, I warm up to you. My favorite place to be is alongside my foster parents—at rest in their lap, walking outside on leash, or shadowing them in house. I love to cuddle and play with my foster dog siblings. I don’t live with a cat, but have hung out with our neighbor’s cat. Sometimes I go to their house with my four-legged foster siblings and play in their house and yard. I bet I’d do well if I was adopted into a home that had a cat. I think they’re cool. They aren’t any children in my foster home, however, my foster family has many nieces and nephews that come to visit. I behave really well around them, with one exception: Those younger kids can be loud and that kind of scares me. The youngest girl is 2.5 years old. She’s very respectful, and we enjoy curling up together for snuggles. She takes me for leash walks both in the house and the yard, and we have a blast together! I’m thoroughly enjoying life outside of a puppy mill, and need to find a home that already has a dog. I lived in a crate for a long time, and all this freedom has been a major adjustment for me. My adoptive home should have a dog so I have a friend to look up to, to help me build confidence, and teach me the ropes. I’m highly food motivated and absolutely love ice cubes and ice chips—year round—not just in the summer months! I greet each day with enthusiasm because it means another day living life the way a dog should. I’ve made huge strides since being rescued. If you provide me with a daily routine, I'll settle in and figure out what expectations you have for me. There’s one last thing I need to share with you: I have to take medicine twice a day to prevent me from having seizures. I used to have them one to two times a month, but the medicine has been effective, and I’m doing better. I’m so excited to meet my forever family. I just might wag my little tan tail right off my hind end!
