Approximate Age: 10 months (as of October 9).
Hi, my name is Herman. I’m a Cattle Dog mix. I was rescued from a local animal shelter and am excited and patiently waiting to meet my human companions. I’m an extremely intelligent, active, and sturdy boy. I thrive on mental stimulation, exercise, and a sense of purpose. My athleticism and desire to burn energy will floor you! Long walks or runs are fun, but someday I'd like to kick it up a notch. Think rollerblading or biking, or let’s get involved in a canine sport like agility, obedience, rally, flyball, or flying disc competitions. I’m at the perfect age for us to start training together. I'm consistently proving to my foster parents I can sit and lay down on command. I'm also learning "leave it" when I go for a run along a bike. (Hey, what dog doesn't get distracted by squirrels?) I'm not very fond of going in my kennel, but I will graciously do so to please you. Once in, I'm as quiet as a mouse throughout the night. I enjoy puzzle toys and Kong toys filled with treats or peanut butter. I like adult people best of all. You want to know how I do with cats? Not good. I like to chase them. What about small children? Not winning any awards there either. I’m still a little too young, but am learning quite quickly what is expected of me. Other dogs? I’ll be the first to admit that this isn’t my strong suit. Can you help me learn how to play well with others? I'm improving day by day and am certain my special someone is out there. Experience with my breed or herding breeds in general is beneficial, but as long as you’re young and as enthusiastic as I am, I'm sure we'll get along great! I have a medium-range energy level -- I'm not overbearing at all. You'll think I'm the cutest, most adorable dog ever when you see me put my paws over my head when I'm napping. You really should consider meeting me. I'm waiting to see you to show off all this handsomeness.
I’m altered, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccinations, including rabies.
