From the Foster:

Hi there! My name is Ollie, but most call me Olligator. I'm a friendly, easy going guy. I love most dogs and they are my instant friends, but sometimes I like some space and slower intros. After that, we're best friends, too! M y foster home has a sassy chihuahua, but I'm so nice that I let her be the big sister because she's bossy. We like to give each other kisses when no one is looking. I am the master at sitting by the door when I have to go do my business outside. Crates are really not my thing, so I just hang out in a room for the day and take a nice, long nap.

I LOVE those squeaky toys and bones, especially when I can chase them. Although I don't have a lot of tricks up my sleeve I do know my basic manners and am really good at sitting, especially for treats! My absolutely favorite thing to do is snuggle with my humans. When I'm really happy, I snort. When I'm really tired, I snore. Not to bark about myself, but I'm pretty much the whole package and everyone who meets me falls in love instantly... I mean, it's a lot of work being this handsome!

While I'm a very sweet guy, I've had a bit of a hard past and because of this I get a little scared in new environments.  If you decide I'm the one for you (and you should because I'm so sweet and loving!), I just need you to be a little patient with me when you bring me home.  A quieter environment will be the easiest for me to settle in to.  I can get scared and startled initially - so that's why I'd rather not live with younger kids.   I'm cute and they like to hug me and lay on me, but unless I'm really sure everything is safe, that's way too scary for me.

So, what do you say?! You should apply to come meet me... I'm a fun, easy going, loving guy and am looking for my perfect family!

Apply today to meet the sweetheart, Ollie!

If you live in MN, WI, IA, SD, ND, or IL and would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at   http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/  and the foster(s) will be in touch!  Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s).   You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in.

Note  - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt   that animal.  We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.
