About Me:

Ashes and Inky were rescued Jan 2016 during the snow blizzard. They had been wandering around a townhouse neighborhood in Alexandria as kittens. Neighbors fed and befriended them but their mother disappeared when they were 4-5 months old. They were lured indoors during the blizzard and have been adjusting well to domestication. We estimate they’re 10 months old.

Inky (black) is tiny and super affectionate. She purrs almost constantly but doesn’t seem to meow- nothing comes out when she opens her mouth. She adjusted well to being an indoor cat. She loves to play and follows her foster mom around the house, especially up and down the stairs. She was very skiddish in the beginning but after 2 months indoors, she loves being picked up and curls up easily. Though the tiniest, she is the queen of the house and even harasses the 8 year old, 16 lb male cat of the house. She is very trusting and needs Ashes to look after her.
Ashes makes up for Inky with his voice. He is a talker. After every meal, he will have a conversation with you especially when he goes down to the litterbox. But he doesn’t meow or wake us up at night. He has the cutest face and stunning markings. He is curious and playful and finally started to enjoy being petted and brushed. He is still not happy being picked up but nudges you to pet his head. When guests come over, he disappears and needs an extra loving home to help him adjust. Ideally, if he had a yard or outdoor cage (eventually after being well adjusted) for a couple hours a day, it would be perfect.

Like most cats, Inky may need 1-2 weeks in a small, contained area to help her adjust to a new environment. She is litterbox trained.

The adoption fee for this cat is $115, which includes the cost of routine vetting, vaccinations, and her spay surgery - which is already done.

INKY IS NOT FOR ADOPTION WITH LUCKY DOG. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. For an on-line application form, please call  703 629-6024 or 703 980-3031
