ADOPTION PENDING!!!! Hi, my name is officially Todd, but a nice lady called me Teddy and that's what I like most now. You probably clicked on my profile because of my good looks! I'm pretty adorable, but that can be a blessing and a curse. See, in my short life I have lived in at least 5 different places and humans haven't always been kind to me and respectful of my space. It scares me so much when new people just stretch their hand in front of me or get too close that I'll react by growling and even nipping. Please remember this when you meet me.This aggressiveness is just me masking my fear, so I need a patient, loving adopter who will help me feel safe, and I'd benefit from working with a good trainer. I also want to protect my turf from other dogs, so I would do best as the only dog in a home. If you give me some space from the get-go, I'll start approaching you and getting comfortable with you little-by-little. The first day my fosters had me, they thought I'd never want to be petted, but they let me be, and after a couple of days I was seeking affection. Within three days, I would even go on my back to get belly scratches. I still get aggressive with strangers and am sometimes protective of food and toys, but I'm working on those things too and am getting better every day.

I am young but have the perfect amount of energy. I love treats, going on walks, and playing with balls and toys, but I also like to just lay down near my favorite people to cuddle. I also love car rides and am always well behaved while I watch out the window or rest on the back seat.

If you give me a little time to trust you, I will love you deeply and be a lifelong friend. I want my next home to be my forever one, and I can't wait to find a good human so I won't have to say goodbye again. Is that you? If it is, please contact the nice lady below.

Like most shelter dogs, Todd may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
