The applicant understands that they have been approved for a short trial period (24 hour over-night visit for puppies under 6 months, 3 days if 6 months) with the adoptable animal, and the adoption fee was collected as a refundable deposit prior to the trial period.

The applicant understands and agrees that the deposit is only refundable IF the dog is returned to Take Paws Rescue 1) before an adoption contract is completed by the applicant AND 2) within the specified trial period.

The applicant understands that a trial period is not indefinite and limited to a maximum of 3-7 days for adult dogs (24 hour sleepover for puppies under 6 months), depending on the dog. If the applicant fails to submit a contract or keeps the dog longer than the agreed upon period, the trial contract will convert into an adoption contract at the discretion of Take Paw Rescue, and the fee will not be refunded.

The applicant understands and agrees to the following: 1) Take Paws has the right to repossess the animal at any time. 2) The animal must be returned to Take Paws if he/she no longer wants it or cannot adequately care for it for any reason. 3) The animals ownership may not be transferred to any other individual, shelter, or rescue. 4) Animals are different from human beings in their responses to human actions and that actions of animals are often unpredictable; animals must be closely supervised with children and other animals - Take Paws makes not claim, representation or warrant regarding any adoptable animal put up for adoption for its behavior, temperament or physical condition. 5) The animal must be provided with proper food, water, a safe/sanitary environment, even on a trial period. 6) The animal must not be kept outside unattended. 7) All state and local animal ordinances and anti-cruelty laws must be followed.
