The majority of our volunteer work is with cats. This includes shelter cat care, socialization and enrichment. Other opportunities include sorting & organizing donations, cleaning, event planning, fundraising, grant writing and outreach. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Morning shelter cat care (requires kneeling, bending & lifting)
- Evening shelter cat care (resuires kneeling, bending & lifting)
- Animal Enrichment (1:1 with our cats)
- Fundraising
- Event planning
- Outreach events
- Cleaning/ Sorting Donations/ Organization
- Assist with the LAWS dog program

TIME COMMITMENT
We ask volunteers to commit to:
- 3 months of service
- 1 regularly scheduled shift per week
- help with one event or fundraiser event per year

Community service volunteers may provide shelter support including washing dishes, doing laundry, general cleaning and special projects.

VOLUNTEER POLICY
Volunteers ages 18 and up may volunteer in the opportunity of their choice.

Volunteers under 18 are required to have a parent of legal guardian sign their volunteer release form, and may volunteer in the roles listed below.

ANIMAL ENRICHMENT VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers ages 10-17 are permitted to volunteer in Animal Enrichment along with a parent or legal guardian who is also a trained volunteer. No more than 2 children will be allowed to volunteer with an adult at once.

SHELTER CAT CARE VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers ages 13-17 are permitted to volunteer in Shelter Cat Care & Enrichment along with a parent or guardian who is also a trained volunteer.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
We accept volunteers 18 and over for court-ordered community service. Opportunities include washing dishes, doing laundry, general cleaning, and special projects.
