You are about to embark on a very rewarding, yet challenging, endeavor. Fostering a homeless animal guarantees that animal a safe, loving place to live while our organization works tirelessly to match it with an adoptive home. For some animals, this foster care time can be as little as a week or two, or as long as a year; however, generally our animals find homes of their own within a month of entering our program. In the end, you will have shared in the Joyful process of saving a life, as well as enriching the life of the family who adopts your foster pet. In many circumstances, this bond is forged for a lifetime.
As a foster home, we ask that you work with our animals while they are in your care in order to expose them to sights, sounds, and situations that they would normally experience in adoptive homes & while in the general public. We will rely on your feedback on the needs of your foster pet and your knowledge of their personality when making decisions on matching animals with adoptive homes, so we require you to be in regular communication with our leadership team.
Further, we ask that all foster homes commit to attending two adoption events each month. We have at least 6 events scheduled every month. Depending on your location, we may be able to connect you with volunteer drivers if attending events are impossible because of your work schedule.
