In order to set our adopted dogs and their new families up for success and to avoid dogs being returned due to easily resolvable 'issues', LOVEPAWS requires all adopters complete one training session with our trainer no later than two weeks after the adoption date. This training session is a private, in-home session and costs $150 (a deeply discounted rate only extended to our adopters). We will collect this fee at the time of the adoption along with the adoption fee. Our trainer will set you and your new pet up for success by answering all questions you have about your new dog adjusting to your home and going over all the training basics, including basic commands, creating structure in the home, when to exercise your dog vs. when to allow them the necessary down time/crate time, how to keep up with crate training, how to leash walk your new dog, how to read the body language and interactions between your new dog and your current pets, etc. Do you agree to schedule a training session with our trainer within 2 weeks of adopting your new dog and pay the training fee?*
