Things you will need to agree to:

  1. I/We understand that I/we cannot transfer, sell, give away or otherwise dispose of any foster animals and that if I/we am/are unable or unwilling to take care of any animal I/we receive in the foster program, that I/we will immediately return it to Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc.

  1. I/We understand that I/we am/are solely responsible for all food, veterinary care*, medications* and all other expenses* relating to a fostered animal.  Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. will reimburse you for all reasonable expenses for a fostered animal.  Items with asterisks (veterinary care, medications and any other non-food expenses) require prior authorization in order to receive reimbursement.  With prior authorization for medical care, we prefer to direct you to one of our vets, where Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc can authorize and pay the vet directly.

  1. I/We understand that Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. cannot guarantee the health of any animal provided through the foster program.

  1. The fostering arrangement is a temporary one and does not constitute an adoption.  Ordinarily, a fostering arrangement will not last more than six months.  Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. has the right to request that the animal be returned to the rescue at any time and for any reason (or no reason at all).  I/We agree to immediately return the animal at Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc’s request.

  1. I/We agree not to let any animal I/we foster from Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. run loose without supervision, or to entrust it for long periods of time to the care of others not in my/our household or to abandon it or to fail to provide it with required food, water, medical care or shelter.

  1. I/We understand that a fostered animal may have an unknown history and I/we agree not to leave the fostered animal unsupervised with other pets or children until the temperament of the fostered animal is understood.

  1. All fostered animals must come back to Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. for adoption!  If you have parties who are interested in adoption, please refer them to Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. (with proper application and other necessary requirements).  We need your cooperation in this matter so that we may enforce our spay/neuter program, and so we can follow up on our “adoptees”.  If you are interested in adopting your foster pet(s), please contact us to fill out any necessary paperwork.

  1. I/We release Pei People Shar Pei Rescue, Inc. (and its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors and assigns) from any liability whatsoever, including, without limitation, liability for bites, scratches, injuries, lacerations, property damage or any other claim arising out of any fostering arrangement, known or unknown and for all past, present and future claims.  This Release is binding upon all individuals signing this application and their minor children and spouses.  All adults (anyone over 18 years of age) in the proposed foster home must sign this application.

  2. I/We agree we will not foster animals for any other rescue groups and/or do independent rescue without first contacting Pei People Shar Pei Rescue Inc. for approval.   I/We understand this is critical so that exposure to animals without proper vaccination or unknown medical history does not negatively impact Pei People fostered animals.
